Cesena, the malatestian town

Cesena is a beautiful town of historical interest with several attractive places to visit.
The Rocca Malatestiana (Malatestian Stronghold), just above the central square Piazza del Popolo, is the medieval fortress that was built around the 14th century by the ruling Malatesta family to protect the town from invaders. The fortress is also surrounded by a lovely park that offers great nature walks.
